COR and COTR Training Courses

The contracting officer’s representative (COR) and the contracting officer’s technical representative (COTR) hold unique and important positions in government contracting. The COR and COTR are designated by the contracting officer to assist in administering specific aspects of a contract. The COR and COTR hold positions of trust and responsibility. The COR and COTR normally have the initial and most continuous contact with the contractor and are the liaisons between the contractor and the contracting officer. Contracting officers rely on the expertise and background of the COR and COTR to ensure that the technical and financial aspects of the contract are accomplished.

Contracting Officer’s Representative Course (COR, COTR, TO, PO)
This comprehensive training course is designed to provide non-contracting personnel with knowledge of the federal acquisition process as well as the knowledge and skills to execute their responsibilities as a representative of the contracting officer, including Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs), Contracting Officer's Technical Representatives (COTRs), Technical Officers (TOs), and Project Officers (POs). Some agencies recognize this training course as also satisfying their procurement ethics training requirement. This course addresses the competencies identified in the November 2007 OFPP Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting Officer's Technical Representatives memorandum and provides successful students with 4.0 CEUs or 40 CLPs. Advanced COR/COTR Workshop
This course is specifically designed to fulfill the FAC-COTR requirement for continuous learning (i.e., 40 CLPs every two years). FAC-COTR certified professionals will increase their mastery of the FAC-COTR competencies by applying them in an in-depth case study for a performance-based service acquisition. Students will navigate complex acquisition situations ranging from acquisition planning to contract management.
