As a result of global competition, technological advances, and increasing travel expenses, many project team members now work in “virtual teams” that transcend distance, time zones, and organizational boundaries. Virtual teams have evolved as a way to work across geographical boundaries and utilize team members for their competencies, not just their physical location. Virtual teams are a benefit and a necessity to organizations and will become more, not less, prevalent.
