The Mid-Level Enrichment (MLE) Program
Mid-level leaders serve as vital links between executives and frontline team members. Investing in developing their business acumen, coalition building, and strategic thinking yields valuable benefits for the organization and the individual in their career development. The Mid-Level Enrichment (MLE) program encompasses a 15-week active program, offering mid-career leaders (GS-13 to GS-15) exposure to specialty areas—such as financial management, acquisition and contracting, and data analytics—alongside experiential opportunities to develop leadership skills relevant to federal employees. The MLE program aims to enhance cross-functional leadership capable of seamless transitions within and across an agency missions' areas to enhance career and succession planning within the organization. This dynamic learning opportunity features in-person sessions and concluding with the presentation of agency-specific group projects. Learners undergo a structured journey from learning about leadership to being highly capable leaders within their agency. We will focus on the key principles of the Office of Personal Management (OPM) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) to further enhance the development and ensuring these leaders are prepared to tackle the challenges for future leadership roles in their organization. The MLE program uses adult-learning principles augmented by positive organizational psychology to equip graduates with advanced skills to shape organizational culture, make strategic decisions, and guide others during complex organizational and mission challenges.
The New Supervisor Immersion (NSI) Program
New supervisors need more than classes; they need opportunities for on-the-job application, a support network, and a mentor to reinforce and sustain what is learned in class. This program combines best practices in adult learning with positive organizational psychology to create a unique and impactful learning journey focused on the whole person. A feedback-rich and transformative experience, the program is designed to provide learners with a deeper understanding of how to manage and lead, to work with peers to identify and solve problems, and to create a community that sustains personal and professional growth. After a rigorous nomination, selection, and approval process, members of the cohort attend a virtual orientation session that provides an overview of all program components. This program kicks off with an in-person session to foster social and collaborative bonds within the cohort. Learners will also attend virtual, instructor-led classes, work on projects in groups, and receive individualized feedback from a variety of Management Concepts facilitators, peers, and mentors. Throughout, the focus remains on helping you develop and practice the skills needed to address real-world challenges.
