Digital IT Acquisition Professional (DITAP) Program

Contracting personnel who are FAC-C Professional certified with at least 2 years of experience and who are assigned to acquisitions consisting primarily of digital services over FAR 13.500(c) are required to attend the DITAP training program. FAC-COR Level II/III and FAC-P/PM Level II/III holders assigned to acquisitions consisting primarily of digital services over FAR 13.500(c) thresholds are encouraged to attend DITAP training to create a cohesive team that fully understands how to buy digital services.

Acquisition workforce members seeking to apply for the Digital Services Credential (DITAP), formerly FAC-C-DS, through the Credential Program managed by FAI must first successfully complete the DITAP Training Program; they may then apply for the Digital Services Credential (DITAP) through FAI.

As part of the overall effort to increase expertise in buying technology, the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), in concert with the U.S. Digital Service (USDS), issued a challenge several years ago through challenge.gov to create and pilot an innovative training and development program to teach contracting professionals how to buy digital services — thus the DITAP program was born. The program was subsequently opened to contracting officers’ representatives and project managers. OFPP and USDS will continue to evolve the curriculum in consultation with the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) to ensure currency of content and integration of best practices.

Management Concepts will issue a DITAP certificate to students who successfully complete the DITAP training program. Students will then present the certificate to their agency ACM and/or FAI to receive credit for attending the training. Students who wish to apply for the Digital Services Credential (DITAP), formerly FAC-C-DS, through FAI may use their certificate as proof that they have successfully completed the required training portion of the credential.

This approximately 6-month specialized and immersive professional development experience teaches federal government acquisition professionals to design innovative and flexible procurements for IT and digital services. Students attend part-time and work in cohorts of 25—30 participants. The DITAP program focuses on procuring services such as human-centered design, iterative development methods, cloud, and X-as-a-service (XaaS). Along the way, students will learn how to become leaders and change ambassadors within their agencies. Successful completion of the entire program earns the student a DITAP Training Certificate and 80 CLPs, which can then be used to apply for the Digital Services Credential (DITAP), formerly FAC-C-DS, through FAI.

The 3 week-long classroom sessions, 8 webinars, and facilitator office hours are held in a live virtual classroom via Adobe Connect.

Individuals can apply for the DITAP program through our website and Open Enrollment process and, if accepted, will be placed into cohorts of 20—30 students. The full 6-month program price is $7,250 per person if enrolling individually. The fee includes access to all course materials, our online learning portal, our training team/coaches, and collaboration and networking opportunities. DITAP is also available for teams at a reduced rate. Travel, lodging, and per diem costs are not included in the fee. Upon successful completion of the full program, 80 CLPs and a DITAP Training Certificate will be provided. Cancellations and Transfers

• Student substitutions are permitted at any time up to the start of the program.
• Fourteen days or more prior to the start of the program: no charges will be incurred for canceling or transfer of the program registration.
• Thirteen days or fewer prior to the start of the program: the full tuition is due. There is no credit available to transfer or refund. If rescheduling, an additional payment in the amount of the new registration will also be due.

Student No-Show
If a student fails to attend the program, the full tuition is due and there is no credit available to transfer or refund.

Refunds and Credits
Refunds are made upon request only for registrations canceled 14 calendar days or more prior to the program start date. Credits granted can be used for any future program or class.
