This extremely popular day-long training event sold out for the second year in a row, with 1,400 members of the defense financial management (FM) community coming together for continuing education opportunities and to hear the latest developments from Department of Defense (DoD) leadership.
In keeping with the 2025 theme, “All Hands, All Domains for Audit 2028!”, Management Concepts was proud to bring together a panel of distinguished speakers at our breakout session “Audit Remediation: Everyone’s Business.”

Achieving and maintaining integrity in financial reporting is a top priority for every leader in the Department of Defense. With Congress mandating in the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that the defense community achieve a clean audit by 2028, the urgency for improving financial processes has never been greater. Success in this effort requires collaboration across all levels and functional areas within DoD, ensuring that financial, acquisition, logistics, and operational communities work together to strengthen audit readiness.
In this session, our panel of experts shared their insights on the challenges, opportunities, and critical steps DoD leaders must take to meet this mandate. Panelists will discuss the behaviors, business decisions, training, and professional development priorities that directly impact audit success, as well as best practices for fostering a culture of accountability and financial integrity. Join us for a dynamic discussion on how collective action and leadership can drive DoD toward a clean audit by 2028.
