Fighting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse: AGA Fraud '22 icon

Management Concepts was pleased to exhibit at the 2022 AGA Internal Control & Fraud Prevention Training (Fraud 22) September 20-21 at the Ronald Reagan Building International Trade Center in Washington, DC, welcoming an intimate crowd onsite and several hundred additional attendees online.

As is usual for AGA’s high standards, Fraud 22 boasted well-known keynote speakers, including Rachel Wilson, director of cybersecurity at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, and former head of counterterrorism operations at the National Security Agency (NSA), as well as best-selling author Kurt Eichenwald, an investigative journalist, senior writer, editor, and cable news correspondent.

Breakout sessions covered a range of fraud topics, beginning with timely issues surrounding pandemic relief programs, fallout, and lessons learned. In that vein, grant program monitoring was a recurring subject. Enterprise risk management and enterprise resource planning were emphasized, with strategies for implementing and enforcing internal control processes. Many sessions were aimed toward the important role that inspectors general play in the increasingly challenging and rapidly evolving circumstances in detecting and prosecuting fraud, waste, and abuse of government funds.

Between sessions, attendees moved about the exhibit hall to visit product and service providers, including Management Concepts. Whether at our virtual or in person exhibit booth, visitors had the opportunity to talk to our knowledgeable staff and learn about our newest courses in fraud-related issues and other supplemental offerings – including internal control, enterprise risk management, grants-related fraud, and analytics. Many also asked about our instructor opportunities in financial management.

With many more AGA events on the horizon, we’re looking forward to seeing AGA members and conference attendees very soon at the AGA Technology & Transformation Summit at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC on December 8, 2022.
